BfR (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung) is the German Federal Institute for Risk Assesment. The adhesive can be used in direct contact with dry and moist, non fatty foodstuffs.
Applications and use
Applications include labelling of quality products such as cosmetics, toiletries, luxury articles and promotional labelling. Ideal for situations requiring "substrate identical labelling" on polypropylene containers and in environmentally sensitive makets erquiring recycling of "polyolefin" packs. Due to fairly rigid nature of the film, care should be taken with use on non-uniform surfaces and where a very high level of squeezability is desired.
The product is used in a variety of labelling applications, when the advantages of digital printing: short runs, last minute changes, personalised layouts and fast turn-round full colour printing are required.
Conversion / Printing
The topcoating ensures full transfer of ElectroInk in the one-shot transfer step in the HP Indigo press and related engines. The surface also provides excellent anchorage and improved rub resistance of ElectroInk based images.
FASSON Indigo constructions are developed for dedicated use on HP Indigo presses.
Care should be taken with the use of heat for drying or UV curing.
Sharp dies, especially in flat-bed, are important to ensure smooth conversion.
For optimal dispensing a relatively high tension on the backing paper and a sharp beak are recommended.
It is recommended to overvarnish or overlaminate the product to protect the print.
